...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 873 IS IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF
SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...

A BAND OF THUNDERSTORMS...SEVERAL OF THEM VERY HEAVY...EXTENDED FROM
PITTSBURG KANSAS TO LIBERAL TO SCHELL CITY MISSOURI AT 3 PM.  THEY WERE
MOVING TO THE EAST AT ABOUT 25 MILES AN HOUR.  THAT MOVEMENT WOULD TAKE
THEM TO A LINE FPROM LAMAR TO HUMANSVILLE BY ABOUT 4 PM CDT.  THE VERY
HEAVIEST THUNDERSTORM WAS JUST TO THE NORTHWEST OF LIBERAL ON THE STATE
LINE AND IS MOVING TOWARD THE IRWIN AREA.

425 PM CDT SUN SEP 19 1993

...A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT FOR PORTIONS OF
SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...

A TORNADO WATCH HAS REPLACED THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH ISSUED
EARLIER.

AT SHORTLY AFTER 4 PM A LINE OF VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM
HERMITAGE TO GREENFIELD TO CARTHAGE.  THE LINE WAS MOVING TOWARD THE
EAST.  SOME ESEPCIALLY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED IN THE
STOCKTON AND POMME DE TERRE LAKE AREAS.  THEY WERE EXPECTED TO MOVE
ALONG THE NORTHERN EDGE OF POLK AND DALLAS COUNTIES AND APPROACH THE
URBANA VICINITY BY 5 PM.

THE NEXT BATCH OF EXTREMELY STRONG STORMS WAS STILL WELL TO THE WEST OF
MISSOURI IN THE AREA BETWEEN CHANUTE AND PARSONS KANSAS AND THEY SHOULD
ARRIVE IN MISSOURI IN ABOUT 2 HOURS OR AROUND 6 PM OR SHORTLY AFTER.

NO SEVERE WEATHER HAS BEEN REPORTED IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI.
