AT 815 AM CDT...THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN ARE CONTINUING OVER PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST MISSOURI. MOST RAIN WAS SOUTH AND EAST OF A LINE FROM NEAR ROLLA TO SPRINGFIELD...TO 10 MILES SOUTH OF JOPLIN. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE OCCURRING IN THE SPRINGFIELD AREA. PRECIPITATION AMOUNT IN EXCESS OF OF 3 INCHES HAVE OCCURRED IN SOME AREAS OVERNIGHT...AND AN ADDITIONAL INCH OR TWO IS POSSIBLE THIS MORNING BEFORE SHOWERS SUBSIDE BY MID TO LATE MORNING. PEOPLE IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI SHOULD REMAIN ALERT TO RISING WATER AND BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR A WARNING IS ISSUED.
