THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1230 PM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES

   IN THE SOUTH CENTRAL PART OF MISSOURI
      TEXAS...CARTER...OREGON...RIPLEY...SHANNON...HOWELL

RAINFALL AMOUNT OF 2 TO 3.5 INCHES HAS BEEN REPORTED OVERNIGHT IN
THE WARNED AREA.  THIS HEAVY RAIN HAS CAUSED MANY CREEKS AND
STREAMS TO REACH NEAR OR ABOVE BANKFULL.  FLOODING HAS BEEN
REPORTED IN HOWELL COUNTY...WHERE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO THE
HIGH WATER.  HEAVIER SHOWERS AND THUNDERSHOWERS NOW OVER NORTHERN
ARKANSAS ARE EXPECTED TO MOVE NORTHEAST INTO THE WARNED AREA DURING
THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS...CAUSING ADDITONAL FLOODING.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
