...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN SOUTH CENTRAL VIRGINIA HEADING TOWARD
THE KERR LAKE AND LAKE GASTON AREA...

AT 513 PM RADAR INDICATED A CLUSTER OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN
EASTERN HALIFAX AND SOUTHERN CHARLOTTE COUNTIES IN SOUTH CENTRAL
VIRGINIA. THESE STORMS PRODUCED HALF DOLLAR SIZE HAIL AND WIND GUSTS
ESTIMATED AT 60 MPH AS THEY PASSED OVER THE VOLENS VIRGINIA RADAR SITE.

THE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 40 MPH AND WERE HEADING
TOWARD THE KERR LAKE AND LAKE GASTON AREAS OF NORTH CAROLINA.

IF THE STORMS CONTINUE TO REMAIN AS INTENSE...WARNINGS WILL LIKELY
BE ISSUED. IN THE MEANTIME...BOATERS ON KERR LAKE AND LAKE GASTON
SHOULD SEEK SAFE HARBOR IMMEDIATELY.
