FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1145 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

A MAJOR LEVEE BREAK WAS REPORTED ON THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER NEAR WEST
QUINCY. US HIGHWAY 24 BRIDGE AT QUINCY IS NOW CLOSED. THE LEVEE
BROKE JUST NORTH OF US 24 NORTH OF THE BAYVIEW BRIDGE ON THE
MISSOURI SIDE.
 
PERSONS ARE ADVISED TO EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY.  PEOPLE IN WEST QUINCY
AND TAYLOR ARE IN IMMEDIATE THREAT...AND SHOULD REACT QUICKLY.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
T2HE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
