IN NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA ...BOYD COUNTY...NORTH CENTRAL HOLT COUNTY WEATHER RADAR AT NORFOLK SHOWS A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 20 MILES NORTHWEST OF O NEILL JUST NORTHEAST OF ATKINSON.. THE STORM WAS MOVING TOWARD SPENCER. PEOPLE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM SHOULD TAKE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY. PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY RAIN THAT CAN QUICKLY FLOOD A LOW LYING AREA. REMEMBER... AT 210 PM CDT SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING ACROSS CUSTER COUNTY OF NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. ONE OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS WAS ABOUT 5 MILES NORTHWEST OF BROKEN BOW OR ABOUT 50 MILES NORTHEAST OF NORTH PLATTE WHILE ANOTHER WAS IN THE SARGENT AREA ABOUT 60 MILES NORTHWEST OF GRAND ISLAND. THESE NEWLY DEVELOPED THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY TO PRODUCE MODERATE TO BRIEF HEAVY RAIN WITH SMALL HAIL POSSIBLE AS THEY MOVE NORTHEAST THIS AFTERNOON. MORE THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS THE REGION WITH THE BEST CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE EASTERN PARTS OF THE REGION ESPECIALLY IN CUSTER COUNTY AND FRONTIER COUNTY. LATER THIS AFTERNOON THERE IS THE CHANCE THAT SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS MAY BECOME SEVERE.
