...URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING IN PARTS OF BELL COUNTY...

AT 1015 AM...MINOR FLOODING WAS REPORTED IN DOWNTOWN MIDDLESBORO BY
THE AREA 11 DES DIRECTOR. SEVERAL INCHES OF WATER WERE OVER PARTS OF
CUMBERLAND AVENUE AND MANY DITHCES WERE OVERFLOWING DUE TO STORM
SEWERS BACKING UP.

PEOPLE IN BELL COUNTY AND ESPECIALLY THE MIDDLESBORO AREA SHOULD MONITOR
WATER LEVELS CLOSELY FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR
VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD...ESPECIALLY THROUGH
UNDERPASSES OR DIPS IN THE ROAD. IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS IN HIGH WATER
YOU SHOULD ABANDON THE VEHICLE AND MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN WILL CONTINUE OVER ALL OF SOUTHEAST KENTUCKY FOR
THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL WILL LIKELY OCCUR IN THE
BELL COUNTY AREA.
