FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  215 PM CST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN EAST CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
 
   ...LAUDERDALE COUNTY
 
THE FLOOD WARNING FOR OKATIBBEE CREEK IN LAUDERDALE COUNTY FROM MERIDIAN
MISSISSIPPI SOUTHWARD HAS BEEN EXTENDED.
 
SINCE 6 AM CST THE CREEK HAS BEEN STEADILY RISING AND WAS AT A STAGE OF
18.54 FEET AT THE GAGE AT PLANT SWEAT AT 950 AM CST.  A FLOOD STAGE OF
18 FEET CAUSES FLOOD DAMAGE.
 
PERSON NEAR OKATIBBEE CREEK SHOULD BE ALERT FOR CONTINUED FLOODING.
 
EVEN THOUGH THE RAIN HAS DECREASED SOMEWHAT THIS MORNING...ADDITIONAL
RUNOFF WILL CAUSE THE CREEK TO RISE SLIGHTLY HIGHER.
 
THE CREEK SHOULD CREST EARLY THIS AFTERNOON.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
