FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  730 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTHWEST KENTUCKY
 
   ...DAVIESS COUNTY...HENDERSON COUNTY...OHIO COUNTY
 
AT 522 PM CDT...RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN FROM
NEAR HENDERSON KENTUCKY...20 MILES WEST OF OWENSBORO...TO BEAVER DAM
KENTUCKY...25 MILES SOUTH OF OWENSBORO. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE
OCCURRING OVER AREAS THAT HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED HEAVY RAINS EARLIER
TODAY. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING VERY LITTLE.
 
THE DAVIESS COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTED SOME ROADS AROUND UTICA KENTUCKY
WERE UNDER 2 TO 3 FEET OF WATER. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS
WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROAD. DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO PLAY IN OR
NEAR FLOOD WATERS.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
