FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  545 AM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......

IN NORTH DELAWARE

   ...NORTHERN NEW CASTLE COUNTY


...FLOOD WARNING ISSUED FOR THE CHRISTINA RIVER...

A FLOOD WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THE CHRISTINA RIVER.  STEADY
RAINFALL CONTINUES ACROSS DELAWARE WITH POCKETS OF HEAVIER RAIN MOVING
ACROSS NEW CASTLE COUNTY.  AT 1135 PM EST THE RIVER GAGE AT COOCHES
BRIDGE WAS AT 8.73 FEET AND CONTINUES TO RISE STEADILY.  FLOOD STAGE FOR
THE CHRISTINA RIVER AT COOCHES BRIDGE IS 9.0 FEET.  THE CHRISTINA RIVER
SHOULD GO ABOVE FLOOD STAGE JUST PAST MIDNIGHT.  THE RIVER WILL
LIKELY CONTINUE TO RISE OVERNIGHT AS THE RAINFALL SHOULD CONTINUE
THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT.

PERSONS LIVING NEAR THE CHRISTINA RIVER SHOULD KEEP A SHARP LOOKOUT FOR
RISING WATER AND MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IF NECESSARY.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOtD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
