AT 1005 PM...VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED OVER NORTHEAST KANSAS. THE LEADING EDGE OF THE THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM JUST SOUTHWEST OF ST. JOSEPH...TO NEAR TONGANOXIE AND JUST EAST OF LAWRENCE. A THUNDERSTORM JUST NORTH OF TOPEKA HAD PRODUCED UP TO BASEBALL SIZE HAIL. MOVEMENT WAS TO THE EAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR...SO THUNDERSTORMS WILL SPREAD INTO ST. JOSEPH AND THROUGH THE WESTERN PARTS OF THE KANSAS CITY METROPOLITAN AREA...MAINLY NORTH OF THE KANSAS RIVER IN LEAVONWORTH AND WYANDOTTE COUNTIES...BETWEEN 1015 AND 1100 PM. . AT 1028 PM...VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE OCCURRING ACROSS NORTHEAST KANSAS. MAINLY NORTH OF THE KANSAS RIVER FROM LAWRENCE TO TOPEKA TO 25 MILES NORTHWEST OF TOPEKA. THESE STORMS WILL PRODUCE LARGE HAIL AND VERY HE;AVY DOWNPOURS AS THEY MOVE EAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. ANOTHER VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED ALONG THE MISSOURI RIVER ...30 MILES NORTWEST OF ST JOSEPH. MOVEMENT WAS EAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE INTO WYANDOTTE AND NORTHWEST JOHNSON COUNTIES OF KANSAS BETWEEN 11 AND 1115 PM. PERSONS IN THE PATH OF THESE STORMS SHOULD BE PERPARED TO MOVE TO A PLACE OF SAFETY SHOULD THE NEED ARISE.
