NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS
832 AM CDT SUN AUG 1 1993

...A BAND OF THUNDERSTORMS WAS HEADING THROUGH WEST CENTRAL KANSAS...

AT 825 AM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS FROM THE WAKEENEY
AREA TO 15 MILES NORTHWEST OF SCOTT CITY.  THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING
SOUTHEAST AT 35 MILES AN HOUR AND SHOULD REACH THE NESS CITY AND SCOTT
CITY AREAS BETWEEN 900 AND 930 AM.

WIND GUSTS OVER 40 MILES AN HOUR...BRIEF HARD DOWNPOURS OF RAIN...AND
DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE EXPECTED WITH THESE THUNDERSTORMS.  PERSONS IN THE
SCOTT CITY AND NESS CITY AREAS SHOULD BE ALERT FOR RAPIDLY CHANGING
WEATHER CONDITIONS THIS MORNING.  BE PREPARED TO MOVE INDOORS INTO A
STURDY SHELTER WHEN THUNDERSTORMS APPROACH.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1100 AM CDT FOR
TREGO...SCOTT...LANE...AND NESS COUNTIES IN WEST CENTRAL KANSAS.
