SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL  400 PM MST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL ARIZONA
 
   ...EASTERN PIMA COUNTY
 
AT 145 PM MST TUCSON AND PHOENIX WEATHER RADAR...LIGHTNING DETECTION
EQUIPMENT AND SATELLITE IMAGERY INDICATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
DEVELOPING IN EASTERN PIMA COUNTY. THE STRONGEST STORMS WERE LOCATED
OVER GREATERVILLE IN THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF PIMA COUNTY AND GREEN
VALLEY. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING NORTH SLOWLY AND WILL AFFECT THE
GREATER TUCSON AREA AND ALL SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES IN THE EASTERN
THIRD OF PIMA COUNTY.
 
THESE STORMS WILL LIKELY CAUSE LOCALIZED FLOODING AND STRONG WINDS IN
EXCESS OF 55 MPH.  ALL PERSONS IN THE AFFECTED AREA SHOULD SEEK
SHELTER IN REINFORCED STRUCTURES AND AVOID DRIVING IN THE METRO AREA
IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS XBRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
