000 TTAA00 KTUL 170012 SVRTUL OKC101-170115- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TULSA OK 711 PM CDT THU APR 16 1992 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TULSA HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 815 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES ... IN EAST CENTRAL OKLAHOMA ...MUSKOGEE COUNTY AT 710 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 5 MILES 5 OF BOYNTON. MOVEMENT WAS AT 15 MILES AN HOUR. THE TOWNS OF WAINWRIGHT AND OKTAHA ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH... LARGE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. THE THREAT AREA COVERS ALL OF EASTERN OKLAHOMA SOUTH OF A LINE FROM THE OKLAHOMA BORDER EAST OF MIAMI TO NOWATA TO ENID. THE GREATEST THREAT FROM SEVERE WEATHER IS LARGE HAIL FOR LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY TONIGHT. HEAVY RAIN IS ALSO A POSSIBILITY. A WEAK...SLOW MOVING COLD FRONT HAS MOVED INTO NORTHERN OKLAHOMA AND WILL HELP DEVELOP THE THUNDERSTORMS IN THE MOIST UNSTABLE AIRMASS. MORNING PRECIPITATION HAS TEMPORARILY STABILIZED THE AIR OVER MOST OF EASTERN OKLAHOMA. AT 415 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED SCATTERESHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER EAST CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA. THSTRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE NEAR WILBURTON AND TAHLEQUAH. MOVEMENT WANORTHEAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. ALTHOUGH THESE THUNDERSTORMS ARE BELOW SEVERE LIMITS...THEY ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING FREQUENT LIGHTNING...WIND GUSTS TO 40 MPH AND SMALL HAIL.
