NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT 508 PM MDT TUE APR 21 1992 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR HIGH WINDS EFFECTIVE UNTIL 715 PM MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN CENTRAL UTAH ...UTAH COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL UTAH ...SALT LAKE COUNTY IN NORTHWEST UTAH ...EASTERN TOOELE COUNTY A HIGH WIND WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR EASTERN TOOELE...SALT LAKE AND UTAH COUNTIES UNTIL 715PM MDT FOR MICROBURST WINDS WITH GUSTS TO 60MPH OR MORE WITH AREAS OF BLOWING DUST AND DEBRIS. AT 455PM MDT A WIND GUST OF 61MPH WAS REPORTED AT SIMPSON SPRINGS LOCATED 10 MILES SOUTH OF DUGWAY. NUMEROUS WIND SENSORS THROUGHOUT THE DUGWAY PROVING GROUND HAVE REPORTED WIND GUSTS BETWEEN 55 AND 60MPH SINCE 450PM MDT. THE THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20MPH. THESE WINDS ARE USUALLY OF VERY SHORT DURATION BUT CAN BE EXTREMELY STRONG. THEREFORE PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN TO MAKE SURE ANY LOOSE MATERIAL WHICH COULD BE DAMAGED OR BECOMING AIRBORNE AND PRODUCE DAMAGE TO PEOPLE OR OBJETS SHOULD BE SECURED. 2322Z CU
