THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A 
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  715 PM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......

IN SOUTH CENTRAL UTAH

   ...WESTERN WAYNE COUNTY

HEAVY RAIN FELL IN WESTERN WAYNE COUNTY INCLUDING CAPITAL REEF
NATIONAL PARK EARLIER TODAY.  THIS RESULTED IN SIGNIFICANT FLASH
FLOODING AT 1 PM IN GRAND WASH AND CAPITAL GORGE CREEKS.  ALTHOUGH
RAINFALL HAD DECREASED AFTER THE FLASH FLOODING...IT HAD
PICKED UP AGAIN AT 5 PM THIS EVENING.

THIS ADDITIONAL RAIN ALONG WITH ALREADY SATURATED SOILS AND FULL
WASHES AND CREEKS WILL CAUSE FURTHER FLASH FLOODING DURING THE NEXT 2
HOURS OR SO IN WESTERN WAYNE COUNTY. 

MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE RISING WATER. KNOW WHERE YOU ARE IN
RELATION TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS IN
HEAVY RAINS. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  DO NOT TRY TO OUTRACE A FLASH FLOOD...EITHER ON FOOT
OR IN YOUR VEHICLE.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
