400 PM CST SAT NOV 21 1992

...SEVERE STORMS LIKELY OVER THE SOUTHEAST HALF OF THE ARKLATEX LATE
THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...A TORNADO WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR A LARGE
PART OF LOUISIANA UNTIL 1100 PM CST...

THE MOST FAVORABLE AREA FOR SEVERE STORMS AND POSSIBLE TORNADOES WILL
BE OVER THE SOUTHEAST HALF OF THE ARKLATEX AS NEW STORMS DEVELOP RAPIDLY
AHEAD OF AN EASTWARD MOVING INCREASING LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER
EASTERN TEXAS AT 4 PM CST.

AT 4 PM CST THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR IN SHREVEPORT SHOWED  A
BAND OF INCREASING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM NEAR DEQUEEN ARKANSAS
SOUTH TO NEAR CLARKSVILLE TEXAS ON TO NEAR LONGVIEW AND ON TO HOUSTON
TEXAS. SEVERE STORMS HAVE ALREADY OCCURRED IN THE HOUSTON AREA THIS
AFTERNOON WITH TORNADOES REPORTED IN THE HOUSTON METROPOLITAN AREA.
THE STRONGEST STORMS IN EAST TEXAS WERE LOCATED FROM NEAR LONGVIEW TO
NACOGDOCHES TEXAS. THE SYSTEM CONTINUES TO MOVE TO THE EAST AT 15 TO 20
MPH...WHILE INDIVIDUAL THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING THE THE NORTHEAST AT
35 MPH.

AS THIS BAND MOVES EASTWARD...STORMS WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE...ALSO
CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP RAPIDLY AHEAD
OF THE OLD BAND ACROSS EAST CENTRAL TEXAS AND WESTERN LOUISIANA.

BESIDES THE THREAT OF SEVERE STORMS...LOCALIZED FLOODING MAY DEVELOP WITH
THE PASSAGE OF THE THUNDERSTORMS...HOWEVER AREA STREAMS REMAIN BELOW
NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. EXCEPT IN URBAN ARAS ANY FLOODING WOULD
BE SLOW TO DEVELOP.
