THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 645 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES

   IN THE SOUTHWEST PART OF MISSOURI
      NORTHERN LAWRENCE...SOUTHERN POLK...GREENE

AT 545 PM CDT A CLUSTER OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM
15 NORTH TO 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF SPRINGFIELD.  MOVEMENT WAS EAST
AT 20 MPH.  SPRINGFIELD...REPUBLIC AND PLEASANT HOPE ARE IN THE
PATH OF THESE STORMS.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 55
MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY ,LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.

...50 MPH WINDS AREA BEING REPORTED ALONG THE LEADING EDGE OF A LINE
OF THUNDERSTORMS...

THE LEADING EDGE OF A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WAS NEAR A BOLIVAR...
EVERTON...MT VERNON LINE.  50 MPH WINDS WERE BEING REPORTED AS THE
THUNDERSTORMS APPROACH ESPECIALLY IN THE HUMANSVILLE AND FAIR PLAY
AREA OF POLK COUNTY.  IT WILL TAKE ABOUT 30 TO 45 MINUTES FOR THE
HEAVIEST RAINFALL TO PASS THROUGH ANY ONE LOCATION.  MOVEMENT OF THE
STORMS WAS TO THE EAST AT 25 MPH.  THAT MOVEMENT WILL BRING THE
THUNDERSTORMS INTO THE SPRINGFIELD AREA AROUND 6 PM.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST
MISSOURI UNTIL 8 PM.
