THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GREENSBORO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA
 
   ...WESTERN ROWAN COUNTY
 
AT 850 PM THE ROWAN COUNTY SHERRIFFS DEPARTMENT REPORTED SEVERAL
BRIDGES AND ROADS WERE UNDERWATER IN THE WESTERN PORTION OF THE COUNTYRADAR SHOWED AN AREA OF PRECIPITATION THAT EXTENDED TROUGH MOST OF ROW
COUNTY. MOVEMENT OF THIS RAIN IS TO THE NORTH AT 15 MPH.
SHOWERS AND POSSIBLE THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH
THE EVENING WHICH WILL ENHANCE THE POSSIBILITY OF FLOODING.
 
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
