FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  800 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL WEST VIRGINIA
 
   ...MERCER COUNTY
 
THE EAST RIVER IS STILL OUT OF ITS BANKS. THE WATER REMAINS BACKED UP
BECAUSE OF HIGH WATER ON THE NEW RIVER...WHERE THE EAST RIVER FLOWS IN
TO. REPORTS ALSO INDICATED THAT AS MUCH AS 5 FEET OF WATER STILL
COVERED ROADWAYS IN ISOLATED LOCATIONS. WATER WILL RECEDE VERY SLOWLY
THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING.
 
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE EXPECTED TO REDEVELOP IN OR NEAR MERCER
COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON. ANY ADDITIONAL RAIN...ESPECIALLY HEAVY RAIN...
WILL WORSEN THE SITUATION. PERSONS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY SHOULD REMAIN
ALERT FOR ADDITIONAL FLOODING IF HEAVY RAINS REDEVELOP.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
