...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE NORTHWEST
PIEDMONT AND THE NORTHERN FOOTHILLS OF NORTH CAROLINA UNTIL 8 PM...

AT 245 PM WEATHER RADAR INDICATED ISOLATED VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS
AND SHOWERS EXTENDING SOUTHWEST FROM STOKES AND SURRY COUNTIES INTO
SOUTHEASTERN AND SOUTHWESTERN PORTIONS WILKES COUNTY. THE STRONGEST
ACTIVITY WAS LOCATED NEAR THE TOWN OF CYCLE IN THE SOUTHEASTERN CORNER
OF WILKES COUNTY. THE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 25 MPH.

THESE STORMS MAY BE ACCOMPANIED BY STRONG GUSTY WINDS...VERY HEAVY
RAIN...FREQUENT DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND POSSIBLY HAIL.
IF THREATNING WEATHER APPROACHES...MOVE INSIDE A SAFE SHELTER UNTIL
THE STORMS HAVE PASSED.

AT 340 PM WEATHER RADAR INDICATED ISOLATED VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS
AND WIDESPREAD SHOWERS OVER THE NORTHWEST PIEDMONT AND THE NORTHERN
FOOTHILLS OF NORTH CAROLINA. THE STRONGEST ACTIVITY WAS INDICATED
ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF ROCKINGHAM COUNTY. ANOTHER AREA WAS
LOCATED JUST SOUTHWEST OF WINSTON-SALEM IN FORSYTH COUNTY. THE STORMS
WERE MOVING EAST AT 25 MPH.
