NCZ003-004-005-014-200230- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RALEIGH/DURHAM NC 920 PM EDT FRI JUN 19 1992 ...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ARE MOVING INTO THE NORTHERN COUNTIES OF THE NORTH CAROLINA PIEDMONT AND COASTAL PLAIN... AT 910 PM STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE CROSSING INTO NORTHERN WARREN COUNTY. A BROKEN LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AND WILL ENTER HALIFAX AND NORTHAMPTON COUNTIES BY AROUND 930 PM. THESE STORMS CONTAINED WINDS STRONG ENOUGH TO DOWN TREES EARLIER THIS EVENING IN SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINA. IN ADDITION... NUMEROUS LIGHTNING STRIKES AREA BEING REPORTED WITH THESE STORMS. A CLUSTER OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WAS ALSO NOTED IN NORTHERN CUMBERLAND COUNTY. ALL STORMS WERE MOVING SOUTHEAST AT AROUND 20 MPH. CASWELL...AND RANDOLPH COUNTIES HAS EXPIRED... AT 1015 PM WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS SCATTERED ACROSS ALAMANCE...CASWELL...GUILFORD...AND ROCKINGHAM COUNTIES. AN AREA OF SHOWERS WAS ALSO OCCURRING OVER DAVIE AND FORSYTH COUNTIES. THE RAIN WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR.
