AND EXTENDED FOR PERSONS NEAR STREAMS IN SOUTHERN SAN MATEO..WESTERN
SANTA CLARA AND SANTA CRUZ COUNTIES UNTIL 4AM THIS MORNING. HEAVY
RAINS ARE NOW OCCURING IN MONTEREY COUNTY WITH STREAMS RISING
RAPIDLY. IN THE OTHER COUNTIES THE HEAVIEST RAINS HAVE BEGUN TO
TAPER OFF FOR THE NIGHT...BUT SOME FLASH FLOOD PRONE STREAMS HAVE NOT
YET CRESTED PROMTING AN EXTENSION OF THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING UNTIL
4AM.
 
MOTORISTS SHOULD AVOID DRIVING IN THE ABOVE AREAS IF
POSSIBLE..AND SHOULD NOT DRIVE THROUGH ANY WATER FLOWING ACROSS THE
ROAD.  RESIDENTS IN THE AREA SHOULD BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE FLASH
FLOODING OR SLIDES AND TAKE NECESSARY ACTION NOW.
