SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT AND RADAR SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MISSOULA MT
215 PM MDT SUN JUN 28 1992

AT 2 PM MISSOULA WEATHER RADAR WAS DETECTING STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER
MUCH OF RAVALLI AND GRANITE COUNTIES.  THESE THUNDERSTORMS ARE MOVING
NORTHEAST AT 15 TO 20 MPH.  THE STRONGEST STORM CONTINUES TO BE THE ONE
LOCATED IN RAVALLI COUNTY WHICH WILL PROBABLY CROSS U.S. HIGHWAY 93
BETWEEN SULA AND CONNER IN A HALF HOUR OR SO.  ANOTHER STRONG STORM WAS
LOCATED JUST WEST OF DRUMMOND AND WILL MOVE UP THROUGH THE HELMVILLE AREA
IN THE NEXT HOUR.

THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY CONTAIN HEAVY RAIN...POSSIBLY LARGE HAIL
AND STRONG WINDS.  IN ADDITION...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT
THROUGH THIS EVENING FOR ALL OF WESTERN MONTANA AS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE
FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS.  REMEMBER...A WATCH MEANS
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE...BUT NOT ACTUALLY OCCURRING.  WARNINGS
