TNZ001-002-004-005-008-102015- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE KNOXVILLE TN 220 PM EDT (120 PM CDT) THU SEP 10 1992 ....THUNDERSTORMS BUILDING OVER NORTHERN CUMBERLAND PLATEAU... AT 210 PM EDT HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS WERE RUMBLING ACROSS SCOTT, MORGAN AND CUMBERLAND COUNTIES. THE SCOTT COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE REPORTED VERY HEAVY RAIN AND SMALL HAIL JUST WEST OF HUNTSVILLE AROUND 2 PM EDT. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE EAST AT 15 MPH. THE HEAVIEST THUNDERSTORM WAS IN SOUTHERN SCOTT COUNTY SOUTH OF HUNTSVILLE. OTHER HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS WERE IN SOUTHERN MORGAN WEST OF PETROS AND SOUTHERN CUMBERLAND COUNTY SOUTH OF CROSSVILLE. IF THESE STORMS APPROACH YOUR AREA TAKE COV&ER IN A STURDY BUILDING UNTIL THEY PASS. SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS MAY CAUSE FLOODING OF STREETS AND SMALL STREAMS.
