000 TTAA00 KMOB 132024 SVRMOB ALC097-132130- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL 222 PM CST MON JAN 13 1992 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 330 PM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA ...MOBILE COUNTY AT 220 PM THE MOBILE RADAR INDICATED A STRONG THUNDERSTORM ABOUT 6 MILES SOUTH OF THE MOBILE AIRPORT MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH. THIS THUNDERSTORM IS EXPECTED TO CROSS ACROSS THE CITY OF MOBILE DURING THE NEXT HOUR. DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL IS POSSIBLE WITH THIS THUNDERSTORM. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNEDz AREA. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING. REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.

ALZ013-015-016-MSZ014-013-132100- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL 157 PM CST MON JAN 13 1992 ...THE TORNADO WARNING FOR MOBILE COUNTY EXPIRED AT 115 PM... TORNADO WATCHES FOR BOTH SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI AND SOUTHWEST ALABAMA REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL LATER TODAY. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT SOUTH OF A LINE FROM MOBILE TO MONROEVILEE TO GREENVILLE IN ALABAMA. THE THUNDERSTORMS THAT PRODUCED THE TORNADO SOUTH OF LUCEDALE MISSISSIPPI MOVED INTO MOBILE COUNTY AND HAVE WEAKENED DURING THE PAST FEW MINUTES. STRONG WINDS AND INTENSE RAINFALL WAS REPORTED AT MT. VERNON AROUND 130 PM. A REPORT OF MARBLE SIZE HAIL AND STRONG WINDS IN EXTREME SOUTHERN MONROE COUNTY WAS JUST RECEIVED FROM THE STATE TROOPERS OFFICE IN EVERGREEN. OTHER STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING OVER SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI. THEY WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP AND MOVE NORTHEAST TO EAST FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE LIKELY IN THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH AREA. RESIDENTS SHOULD REFRAIN FROM DRIVING ACROSS WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH. REPORTS FROM THE STORM AREA NEAR LUCEDALE INDICATED A RESIDENCE WAS UNROOFED AND MOST OF THE WINDOWS BLOWN OUT. NO INJURIES REPORTED.
