FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  900 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN WEST TENNESSEE
 
   ...SOUTHERN SHELBY COUNTY
 
SINCE 6 PM THIS EVENING THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINS HAVE DUMPED UP
TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN OVER PORTIONS OF SOUTH MEMPHIS. HOMES AND STREETS
HAVE BEEN FLOODED AROUND THE FOX MEADOWS AREA OF MEMPHIS.
PERSONS SHOULD SEEK HIGHE GROUND WHEN RISING WATERS ARE IN THEIR
AREA.
 
 
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT

...HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS AGAIN OVER MEMPHIS METROPOLITAN AREA...

AT 630 THIS EVENING SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS WERE DRIFTING INTO
SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE MEMPHIS METROPOLITAN AREA. THE
STORMS WERE PRODUCING RAIN IN EXCESS OF 1 INCH WITH LOCAL FLOODING
OF LOW LYING STREETS AND AREAS.

PERSONS IN THE MEMPHIS AREA SHOULD  STAY ALERT FOR THUNDERSTORMS WITH
VERY HEAVY RAINFALLS. REMEMBER...DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH WATER COVERED
ROADS BUT INSTEAD FIND AN ALTERNATE ROUTE OF TRAVEL.

STORMS SHOULD BE ENDING SHORTLY AFTER SUNSET THIS EVENING.
