THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MEMPHIS HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1115 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI
 
   ...DESOTO COUNTY...NORTHERN MARSHALL COUNTY
 
VERY HEAVY RAINFALL HAS OCCURRED ACROSS DESOTO AND NORTHERN MARSHALL
COUNTIES DURING THE PAST FEW HOURS. OVER 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN
IN THE MT. PLEASANT AREA IN MARSHALL COUNTY. THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS
OF FLOODING IN THE HORN LAKE AREA AS WELL.
 
AN AREA OF SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS WAS OVER EXTREME NORTHWEST
MISSISIPPI THIS MORNING. THE STORMS ARE MOVING EAST AT ABOUT 15 MILES
AN HOUR AND COULD PRODUCE ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINS. PERSONS IN DESOTO
AND NORTHERN MARSHALL COUNTIES SHOULD BE PREPARED TO SEEK HIGHER
GROUND IF FLOOD WATERS APPROACH YOUR AREA.
 
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
