TXZ007-008-010>018-024-034-050>054-NMZ013-312050- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT AND RADAR SUMMARY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND TX 249 PM CDT MON AUG 31 1992 ...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ARE RUMBLING ACROSS THE PORTIONS OF WEST TEXAS AND SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO... AT 231 PM CDT...THUNDERSTORMS...SOME WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN...WERE SCATTERED IN AN AREA NORTHEAST OF A LINE FROM LOVINGTON NEW MEXICO TO ANDREWS TEXAS. THE STRONGEST STORM WAS JUST SOUTH OF SEMINOLE. ANOTHER AREA OF WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...SOME WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN...EXTENDED FROM NEAR FORT STOCKTON WEST TO THE RIO GRANDE...AND NORTH TO NEAR GUADALUPE PASS. THE HEAVIEST RAIN WAS INDICATED NORTHWEST OF SARAGOSA. MOVEMENT OF BOTH AREAS WAS TO THE NORTHEAST AT 10 MILES AN HOUR. THESE STORMS WILL PRODUCE HEAVY RAIN..GUSTY WINDS...DEADLY LIGHTNING AND POSSIBLY SMALL HAIL. NEVER DRIVE INTO A FLOODED STRETCH OF ROAD. THE DEPTH OF WATER MAY BE HIGH ENOUGH TO FLOAT AWAY YOUXR VEHICLE.
