FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  100 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTHWEST TEXAS
 
   ...EASTERN PECOS COUNTY...TERRELL COUNTY
 
AT 1105 PM CDT RADAR AND SATELLITE DATA INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH
VERY HEAVY RAIN OVER EASTERN PECOS COUNTY AND CENTRAL TERRELL COUNTY.
THE THUNDERSTORM WITH THE HEAVIEST RAIN WAS 15 MILES NORTH OF
SANDERSON. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING VERY SLOWLY TO THE SOUTH.
THESE THUNDERSTORMS HAVE BEEN DROPPING HEAVY RAIN OVER THIS AREA FOR
THE PAST SEVERAL HOURS AND THE POSSIBILITY EXISTS THAT SEVERAL MORE
INCHES OF RAINFALL ARE POSSIBLE IN THIS AREA OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS.
 
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
 
MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW S"POTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A
SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
