...A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF THE SOUTH PLAINS UNTIL
   10 PM CDT...

STRONG THUNDERSTORMS HAVE ALREAY STARTED FORMING OVER THE WESTERN SOUTPLAINS THIS AFTERNOON.  DURING THE DAY...VERY MOIST UNSTABLE AIR WORKEITS WAY ACROOS WEST TEXAS.  THIS IN COMBINATION WITH AFTERNOON HEATING
AND THE FORMATION OF A DRY LINE OVER EASTERN NEW MEXICO IS EXPECTED TO
THE THUNDERSTORMS IN DEVELOPING QUICKLY...SOME BECOMING SEVERE WITH
THE POSSIBILITY OF TORNADOES...LARGE HAIL...GUSTY WINDS IN EXCESS OF
55 MPH AND VERY HEAVY RAIN CAUSING SOME LOCALIZED FLOODING.

AT 420 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WESTERN SOUTH PLAINS.  ONE OF THE STORMS WAS
STRONG...WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN LOCATED IN COCHRAN COUNTY ABOUT 3 MILES
SOUTH OF LEHMAN.  MOVEMENT WAS SOUTHEAST ABOUT 15 MPH.

RESIDENTS ACROSS THE SOUTH PLAINS CAN EXPECT CONTINUED THUNDERSTORM
DEVELOPMENT DURING THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS.  SOME OF THE STORMS MAY
BECOME SEVERE...AND CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR POSSIBLE TORNADO
