NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX
455 PM CDT THU APR 9 1992

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH CONTINUES IN EFFECT FOR A LARGE PART OF WEST
TEXAS INCLUDING ALL OF THE SOUTH PLAINS UNTIL 1000 PM CDT.

AT 455 PM CDT LUBBOCK RADAR SHOWED SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
ACROSS THE WESTERN SOUTH PLAINS.  THE STRONGEST STORMS WERE LOCATED
ALONG THE HOCKLEY-COCHRAN COUNTY LINE NORTH OF WHITEFACE AND NEAR
MULESHOE IN BAILEY COUNTY.  MOVEMENT WAS EAST AT 10 MILES AN HOUR.

BRIEF PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN...STRONG GUSTY WINDS...DANGEROUS
LIGHTNING...AND HAIL WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THE STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS.

REMEMBER...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN PRODUCE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 58 MPH
AND DESTRUCTIVE HAIL 3/4 INCH IN DIAMETER OR LARGER.
