000 TTAA00 KLCH 112149 TORLCH LAC023-112215- BULLETIN - EBS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LAKE CHARLES LA 444 PM CDT TUE AUG 11 1992 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAKE CHARLES HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 515 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS IN SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA ...CAMERON PARISH AT 445 PM THE CAMERON PARISH SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT REPORTED THAT A SMALL TORNADO HAD TOUCHED DOWN IN THE MARSH AREA JUST NORTH OF CAMERON. PERSONS IN THE CAMERON AREA SHOULD BE ALERT AND TAKE ACTION IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...SEEK SHELTER IN A NEARBY REINFORCED BUILDING. GET UNDER A PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE PREF`ERABLY IN AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO COVER YOUR BODY. AVOID WINDOWS.

THE STRONGEST OF THESE STORMS WAS LOCATED IN A LINE FROM 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF LUFKIN...JUST NORTH OF LUFKIN...SOUTH OF NACOGDOCHES AND INTO SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY. MOVEMENT OF THESE STORMS WAS TO THE SOUTH AT ABOUT 25 MPH. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD MOVE TO THE INDOORS AS THESE STORMS COULD PRODUCE STRONG GUSTY WINDS...INTENSE CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING...AND BRIEF HEAVY RAINFALL.
