330 PM EDT THU JUL 16 1992

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR ALL OF THE CINCINNATI
TRISTATE AREA... AND WILL BE IN EFFECT UNTIL 1000 PM EDT.

AT 325 PM... SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS... SOME WITH VERY
HEAVY RAIN... WERE OVER PARTS OF SOUTHEAST INDIANA AND SOUTHWEST OHIO.
THIS ACTIVITY WAS LOCATED JUST NORTH OF THE OHIO RIVER BETWEEN
CINCINNATI AND LOUISVILLE... AND JUST WEST OF INTERSTATE 75 BETWEEN
DAYTON AND LIMA.

THESE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR... AND ARE EXPECTED
TO MOVE INTO THE CINCINNATI AREA DURING THE AFTERNOON RUSH HOUR.

NO SEVERE WEATHER HAS YET BEEN REPORTED TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
HOWEVER... THESE STORMS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE WIND GUSTS IN
EXCESS OF 58 MILES AN HOUR... AND HAIL IN EXCESS OF THREE-QUARTERS OF
AN INCH IN DIAMETER.

PEOPLE IN THE CINCINNATI TRISTATE AREA SHOULD BE ALERT TO THE
POSSIBILITY OF SEVERE WEATHER... AND SEEK STRONG SHELTER IMMEDIATELY
IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT FOR ALL OF
CENTRAL OHIO.

AT 355 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF STRONG TO
POSSIBLY SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER WESTERN OHIO FROM NEAR LIMA TO NEAR
DAYTON TO NEAR CINCINNATI.  THE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 30 MILES
AN HOUR.

THIS LINE OF STORMS WILL MOVE INTO MADISON COUNTY BETWEEN 4 AND 430
PM...AND INTO UNION COUNTY BETWEEN 415 AND 445 PM.

THESE STORMS HAVE A HISTORY OF PRODUCING WINDS OF 50 MILES AN HOUR OR
GREATER.  PEOPLE IN THEIR PATH SHOULD BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO A SAFE
PLACE IF SEpVERE WEATHER IS SIGHTED OR A WARNING IS ISSUED.
