NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBUS OH
636 PM EDT THU JUL 30 1992

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF CENTRAL OHIO
THROUGH 10 PM EDT.

A FLOOD WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF CENTRAL OHIO FOR TONIGHT
AND FRIDAY.

AT 635 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A LARGE AREA OF
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS COVERING MOST OF NORTHERN AND WESTERN OHIO.
ALL THE PRECIPITATION WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR AND
WILL MOVE INTO CENTRAL OHIO BY 7 PM AND INTO THE COLUMBUS METROPOLITAN
AREA BY 8 PM.

THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCED RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2
INCHES OVER EASTCENTRAL INDIANA AND WESTCENTRAL OHIO BETWEEN 4 AND 6
PM. NUMEROUS REPORTS OF FLOODING HAVE ALSO BEEN REPORTED WITH THESE
STORMS.

ALL THE STORMS MOVING INTO CENTRAL OHIO HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE
DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL...FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND TORRENTIAL
DOWNPOURS.

THE GROUND REMAINS SATURATED OVER MOST OF CENTRAL OHIO AND THE
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL CAUSE PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS AND
STANDING WATER IN LOW LYING AREAS.

PEOPLE THROUGHOUT CENTRAL OHIO SHOULD BE PREPARED TO ACT QUICKLY AND
MOVE TOB HIGHER GROUND IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR A WARNING IS ISSUED.
