THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  630 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......

IN NORTH DELAWARE

   ...CENTRAL NEW CASTLE COUNTY

STATE POLICE REPORT FLOODING IS BEGINNING TO OCCUR AT THE ROUTE 72 AND
OLD BALTIMORE PIKE INTERSECTION FROM THE CHRISTINA RIVER. THE COOCHES
BRIDGE RIVER GAGE REPORTED A LEVEL OF 8.87 FEET WHICH IS SLIGHTLY BELO
FLOOD STAGE OF 9 FEET AND CONTINUES TO RISE. THE CHRISTINA RIVER IS
EXPECTED TO FLOOD ITS BANKS BEFORE 1 AM THIS MORNING.
PERSONS LIVING ALONG THE CHRISTINA RIVER SHOULD MONITOR THE WATER
LEVELS OF THE RIVER AND MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IF THE WATERS CONTINUE
TO RISE.

THE RAIN IS GRADUALLY COMING TO AN END ACROSS THE STATE OF DELAWARE
AND IS EXPECTED TO LEAVE THE STATE WITHIN THE NEXT HOUR.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
