...POTENT THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING INTO BOURBON COUNTY...

AT 125 PM CDT...RADAR INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE 5 MILES
WIDE...FROM 30 MILES NORTHEAST OF CHANUTE TO 20 MILES EAST OF CHANUTE.
THIS LINE ROUGHLY PARALLELED THE ALLEN-BOURBON COUNTY LINE.  THESE STORMS
CONTINUE TO INTENSIFY AS THEY MOVE OUT OF ALLEN COUNTY.  IF YOU LIVE IN
WESTERN AND CENTRAL PORTIONS OF BOURBON COUNTY...YOU SHOULD MOVE INDOORS
NOW TO PROTECT AGAINST LIGHTNING.  REMAIN INDOORS UNTIL THE STORM PASSES.

OTHER SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE SCATTERED ACROSS PARTS OF SOUTH CENTRAL
AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS...ROUGHLY NORTH OF A LINE FROM WICHITA TO CHANUTE.
AREAL COVERAGE...AS WELL AS THE INTENSITY OF THE STRONGEST STORMS...HAD
INCREASED SINCE 1230 PM.

MOVEMENT WAS EAST AT 25 MILES AN HOUR.

THE ENTIRE SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS REGION REMAINS PRIMED FOR
THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT.  SOME OF THESE STORMS COULD BECOME SEVERE.
STAY ABREAST OF THE LATEST WEATHER CONDITIONS...AND BE READY TO TAKE
IMMEDIATE ACTION IF A WARNING IS ISSUED.

...STRONG STORMS CONTINUE ACROSS SOUTHEAST KANSAS WITH HEAVY RAINS...

AT 255 PM CDT...THUNDERSTORMS...WITH VERY HEAVY RAINS AND WINDS
OF 40 MPH DRIVING IT ALMOST HORIZONTALLY HAS BEEN REPORTED BY SEVERAL
SPOTTERS IN EASTERN KANSAS.  THE STORMS WITH THE HEAVIEST RAINS WERE
FROM CHANUTE NORTHEAST TO NEAR BLUE MOUND.

THE TOWNS OF BRONSON...ELSMORE...AND UNION TOWN ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS
STORM.  PERSONS IN THESE TOWNS SHOULD REMAIN INDOORS AND LISTEN TO
TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR OTHER COMMERCIAL SOURCES.
