THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1045 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY

   IN THE SOUTH CENTRAL PART OF NEBRASKA
      WESTERN GOSPER

AT 1015 PM CDT...RADAR INDICATED A POSSIBLE TORNADO 5 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF ELWOOD MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 MILES AN HOUR.  THIS
INCLUDES JOHNSON LAKE.

IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS TORNADO TAKE SHELTER IN A BASEMENT
OR BELOW GROUND.  OTHERWISE GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE
LOWEST FLOOR.  ABANDON CARS AND MOBILE HOMES FOR A REINFORCED
BUILDING.

AT 928 PM CDT...RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS OVER PARTS OF
WESTERN KANSAS AND A SMALL PART OF SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA.

THE THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM 20 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF MCCOOK
...SOUTH TO 20 MILES WEST OF HILL CITY KANSAS...AND CONTINUED
SOUTH INTO WEST CENTRAL KANSAS.

THE STRONGEST STORMS WHICH LIKELY CONTAIN HAIL...STRONG GUSTY WINDS
...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING WERE LOCATED 20 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF
MCCOOK NEAR CAMBRIDGE AND 10 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MCCOOK NEAR DANBURY.

THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT NEAR 40 MILES AN HOUR AND
WILL BE SPREADING INTO GOSPER AND FURNAS COUNTIES BY 1015 PM CDT.
