SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  915 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA
 
   ...GORDON COUNTY
 
AT 830 PM EDT RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 10 MILES NORTHWEST
OF RESACA AND CALHOUN. THIS STORM WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 25 MPH
AND HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING LARGE HAIL.
 
 
WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A
STRONG BUILDING.  DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS.  DON'T USE TELEPHONES

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING EXTREME NORTH GEORGIA...

AT 720 PM EDT STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING THROUGH PORTIONS OF
SOUTHEAST TENNESSEE. IN ADDITION TO INTENSE LIGHTNING...SOME WERE
PRODUCING HAIL AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING
SOUTHEAST AT 40 MPH...AND MAY MOVE INTO THE EXTREME NORTHERN PORTION
OF GEORGIA BY 8 PM EDT.

PEOPLE IN MURRAY...FANNIN...GILMER...AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES
SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE SHELTER INDOORS IF THREATENING WEATHER
APPROACHES.
