GAZ001>004-251050- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ATLANTA GA 248 AM EST WED NOV 25 1992 A BAND OF THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPED OVER NORTHWEST GEORGIA SHORTLY AFTER MIDNIGHT. BY 245 AM RADAR INDICATED THE BAND EXTENDED FROM NEAR JASPER TO NEAR CARTERSVILLE. VERY HEAVY RAINFALL AND SOME LIGHTNING WAS REPORTED OVER NORTHERN BARTOW COUNTY. THE AREA OF STORMS WAS MOVING EAST AT 45 MPH. MEANWHILE OTHER STORMS WERE DEVELOPING OVER NORTHEAST ALABAMA AND WILL MOVE ACROSS NORTHWEST GEORGIA OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. BRIEF PERIODS OF INTENSE RAINFALL AND GUSTY WINDS WILL BE OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS. RESIDENTS OF NORTH GEORGIA SHOULD BE ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS DURING THESE PREDAWN HOURS.
