IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA ...SOUTHERN FLOYD COUNTY...NORTHERN POLK COUNTY AT 540 PM EST RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM NEAR CAVE SPRING GEORGIA IN FLOYD COUNTY. THIS STORM WAS MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH. THIS STORM HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS. PEOPLE IN CAVE SPRING...CEDARTOWN...AND ROCKMART GEORGIA SHOULD TAKE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIEDE...SEEK SHELTER FROM THE WEATHER IN A STRONG BUILDING. DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN... AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. THE STORM WAS MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH AND SHOULD MOVE INTO FLOYD COUNTY...AND POSSIBLY CHATTOOGA COUNTY SHORTLY AFTER 5 PM. THIS STORM DROPPED LARGE HAIL AT BOAZ ALABAMA AND HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS. PEOPLE IN FLOYD AND CHATTOOGA COUNTIES SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE SHELTER IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES OR IF A WARNING IS ISSUED.
