FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1145 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
 
   ...EMANUEL COUNTY...JENKINS COUNTY
 
AT 940 PM EDT WEATHER SERVICE RADARS INDICATED SLOW MOVING AND STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS IN JENKINS AND EMANUEL COUNTIES OF GEORGIA. EMANUEL
COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REPORTED MANY ROADS CURRENTLY FLOODING AT
LAMB'S BRIDGE...CANNOCHEE... GRIFFIN FERRY INTO SUMMERTOWN... AND
HIGHWAY FIFTY-SIX. RAINFALL HAS BEEN REPORTED IN EXCESS OF FIVE INCHES
IN SOME AREAS. FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR A COUPLE MORE
HOURS.
 
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
