TXZ054-042315- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DEL RIO TX 505 PM CDT THU JUN 4 1992 ...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR VAL VERDE COUNTY UNTIL 11 PM CDT TONIGHT... AT 500 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS FROM 50 MILES SOUTHWEST OF DEL RIO EXTENDING TO THE NORTHWEST INTO TERRELL COUNTY WEST OF SANDERSON. THE STRONGEST STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR SANDERSON IN TERRELL COUNTY. MOVEMENT WAS TO THE EAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN PRODUCE WIND SPEEDS OVER 60 MPH AND/OR HAIL 3/4 INCH IN DIAMETER OR LARGER . PEOPLE IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.
