724 PM CDT THU JUL 9 1992

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR PARTS OF EAST KANSAS
AND NORTHERN MISSOURI...INCLUDING THE KANSAS CITY AND ST JOSEPH AREAS
...UNTIL 1100 PM THIS THURSDAY EVENING...

AT 720 PM...SCATTERED VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE IN NORTHEAST
KANSAS...AND ACROSS PARTS OF NORTHWEST AND NORTHCENTRAL MISSOURI.

A VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS JUST NORTHWEST OF ST JOSEPH..IN
NORTHERN BUCHANAN COUNTY.  ANOTHER STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS 30 MILES
NORTHEAST OF ST JOSEPH...NEAR PATTONSBURG.

THE STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS CONTAIN VERY HEAVY RAIN AND WIND GUSTS
TO 40 MILES AND POSSIBLY SOME SMALL HAIL.

ALL THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 25 MILES AN HOUR.

THE VERY HEAVY RAINS MAY CAUSE LOCALIZED FLOODING...ESPECIALLY IN
LOW LYING AREAS.  MOTORIST SHOULD NOT ATTEMP TO DRIVE ACROSS
HIGH WATER ON THE ROADS.

IF THREATHENING WEATHER APPROACHES YOUR AREA...MOVE INSIDE UNTIL
THE STORM PASSES THROUGH...AND LISTEN TO THE NOAA WEATHER RADIO
FOR LATER INFORMATION AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

AT 722 PM THUNDER WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN AND PEA SIZE$ HAIL WAS
OCCURRING AT THE KANSAS CITY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.
4/10 OF AN INCH OF RAIN FELL AT THE AIRPORT BETWEEN 705 PM AND 720 PM.
