   IOWA UNTIL 4 AM THURSDAY MORNING...

AT 1128 PM CDT...ISOLATED VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS...WERE LOCATED OVER
THE NORTHWEST ONE-THIRD OF IOWA.  THE STORMS AND SHOWERS WERE LOCATED
NORTHWEST OF A LINE EXTENDING FROM THE IOWA/NEBRASKA BORDER JUST NORTH
OF OMAHA/COUNCIL BLUFFS...TO 80 MILES NORTHEAST OF SIOUX CITY...NEAR
LAURENS...TO THE IOWA/MINNESOTA BORDER 40 MILES NORTHWEST OF MASON
CITY.

THE VERY STRONG STORMS...ALONG WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL...COULD ALSO
PRODUCE BRIEF STRONG GUSTY WIND...HAIL...AND FREQUENT DANGEROUS
LIGHTNING.

THE SHOWERS AND STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 25 TO 30 MILES AN HOUR.

   UNTIL 6 AM...

AT 1225 AM CDT...ISOLATED VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS AND SCATTERED
SHOWERS WERE OCCURRING OVER THE NORTHWEST THIRD OF IOWA.  THE STRONGEST
STORMS WERE LOCATED 20 MILES NORTHEAST OF OMAHA/COUNCIL BLUFFS NEAR
LOGAN...AND 5 MILES SOUTHEAST OF STORM LAKE.  THESE STORMS WERE
PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN...GUSTY WINDS...DEADLY LIGHTNING AND POSSIBLY
SOME HAIL.

THE STORMS WERE PART OF AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND STORMS LOCATED WEST OF
A LINE FROM 25 MILES SOUTHEAST OF OMAHA/COUNCIL BLUFFS NEAR SIDNEY...
TO THE IOWA/MINNESOTA BORDER 45 MILES NORTHWEST OF MASON CITY.

AT 1235 AM WEATHER RADAR IN WATERLOO WAS SHOWING SOME SHOWERS
DEVELOPING NEAR MASON CITY. STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE IN THE WESTERN
HALF OF IOWA EXTENDING FROM AREAS WEST OF FORT DODGE INTO SOUTHWEST
IOWA.

THROUGH 130 AM SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE APPROACHING THE I-35
VICINITY FROM CENTRAL IOWA. CLOUDS WILL BE INCREASING THROUGHOUT THE
REST OF NORTHEAST IOWA. AREAS AROUND WATERLOO AND CHARLES CITY SHOULD
REMAIN FREE OF THUNDERSTORMS UNTIL SOMETIME AFTER 3 AM.

PEOPLE IN THIS WATCH AREA SHOULD STAY ALERT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF
THUNDERSTORMS. LATER STATEMENTS WILL BE UPDATING THIS SITUATION AS THE
MORNING WEARS ON.
