000 TTAA00 KDDC 050551 SVRDDC KSC055-069-050645- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 1250 AM CDT FRI JUN 5 1992 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DODGE CITY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 145 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHWEST KANSAS ...SOUTHERN FINNEY COUNTY...NORTHERN GRAY COUNTY AT 1250 AM CDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 6 MILES SOUTH OF GARDEN CITY MOVING EAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR. THE STORM WILL REACH PIERCEVILLE BY 100 AM CDT AND CHARLESTON BY 115 AM. THIS STORM WAS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS AS IT MOVES EAST ALONG HIGHWAY 50 TOWARDS INGALLS AND CIMARRON. IF YOU ARE IN OR NEAR THE PATH OF THIS STORM...SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER IN A REINFORCED BUILDING OR OTHER STRONG STRUCTURE. AT 1215 AM CDT DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR SHOWED A CLUSTER OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS 12 MILES SOUTHEAST OF LAKIN...OR 20 MILES NORTHEAST OF ULYSSES. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST SOUTHEST AT AROUND 30 MILES AN HOUR AND WILL BE OVER OPEN FARMLAND BETWEEN SUBLETTE AND GARDEN CITY BY 1240 AM THIS MORNING. THE STORMS WERE PRODUCING BRIEF VERY HEAVY RAINS...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ...STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND POSSIBLY SOME SMALL HAIL. ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE SPRINKLED ACROSS EXTREME SOUTHWEST KANSAS WESJT OF A LINE FROM DODGE CITY TO MEADE AND MOSTLY SOUTH OF THE ARKANSAS RIVER. .
