NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS
531 PM CDT SAT AUG 8 1992

...THUNDERSTROMS CONTINUED TO POP UP ACROSS SOUTHWEST KANSAS...

AT 530 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED A COUPLE
OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS SOUTHWEST KANSAS.  THESE STORMS WERE
LOCATED BETWEEN SYRACUSE AND COOLIDGE ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 50...AND 15
MILES SOUTH OF ASHLAND OR 50 MILES SOUTH OF DODGE CITY.

THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 10 MPH AND WILL BE IN THE
TOWNS OF SYRACUSE IN HAMILTON COUNTY...AND OVER OPEN FARMLAND IN CLARK
COUNTY...SOUTH OF ASHLAND.

PERSONS IN THE VICINITY OF THESE STRONGER STORMS CAN EXPECT HEAVY
RAIN...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING...AND SOME BREIF GUSTY WINDS.  MOTORISTS
TRAVELING ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 50 BETWEEN SYRACUSE AND COOLIDGE SHOULD
ALSO BE AWARE OF REDUCED VISIBILITIES IN HEAVY RAINS ASSOCIATED WITH
THIS STRONGER STORM.
