AT 355 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED TWO RAPIDLY DEVELOPING THUNDERSTORMS SOUTH OF THE DODGE CITY AREA. THE FIRST WAS 15 MILES SOUTH OF ASHLAND...50 MILES SOUTH OF DODGE CITY...ON THE OKLAHOMA BORDER AND THE SECOND WAS 10 MILES SOUTH OF PROTECTION...50 MILES SOUTH SOUTHEAST OF DODGE CITY. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT AROUND 20 MILES AN HOUR. DEVELOPING RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL REACH ASHLAND AND PROTECTION AREAS BY 500 PM CDT. AT 530 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED A COUPLE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS SOUTHWEST KANSAS. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED BETWEEN SYRACUSE AND COOLIDGE ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 50...AND 15 MILES SOUTH OF ASHLAND OR 50 MILES SOUTH OF DODGE CITY. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 10 MPH AND WILL BE IN THE TOWNS OF SYRACUSE IN HAMILTON COUNTY...AND OVER OPEN FARMLAND IN CLARK COUNTY...SOUTH OF ASHLAND.
