...SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THE COASTAL BEND...

AT 125 PM WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS FROM VICTORIA TO CORPUS CHRISTI TO BROWNSVILLE EXTENDING
WEST TO FREER. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED IN NUECES...JIM
WELLS AND SAN PATRICIO COUNTIES. MOVEMENT WAS NORTHEAST AT 25 MILES AN
HOUR.

NO SIGNIFICANT FLOODING HAS BEEN REPORTED IN THE COASTAL BEND...EXCEPT THE
USUAL PONDING OF WATER ON LOW LYING ROAD SURFACES AND FARM FIELDS. TOTALS
THROUGH 1 PM CDT ARE AS FOLLOWS...CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
1.39 INCHES...NAVAL STATION CORPUS CHRISTI 0.71 OF AN INCH...NAVAL STATION
BEEVILLE 1.39 INCHES...ALICE 1.50 INCHES AND NAVAL STATION KINGSVILLE 0.17
OF AN INCH.

RESIDENTS THROUGHOUT THE COASTAL BEND SHOULD BE ALERT TO RAPIDLY
CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS AS THUNDERSTORMS MAY PRODUCE
HEAVY DOWNPOURS WITH LOCALIZED FLOODING...GUSTY WINDS...DANGEROUS
LIGHTNING AND POSSIBLE FUNNEL CLOUDS. MOTORISTS SHOULD USE CAUTION FOR

AT 230 PM CDT VICTORIA RADAR SHOWED A LARGE AREA OF RAIN WITH EMBEDDED
RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM AUSTIN...COLLEGE STATION...TEXAS
CITY...CORPUS CHRISTI...KINGSVILLE...GOLIAD BACK TO AUSTIN.
THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE MOVING NORTHEAST NEAR 15 MILES AN HOUR.

MOIST UNSTABLE AIR ALONG WITH AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL
CAUSE THUNDERSTORMS TO CONTINUE TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON.

BRIEF HEAVY RAIN...FREQUENT LIGHTNING...GUSTY WIND AND FLOODING
