AT 140 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR WAS DETECTING
THUNDERSTORMS...SOME WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL...JUST TO THE NORTHEAST
OF FALCON LAKE OR OVER EASTERN ZAPATA AND SOUTHWESTERN JIM HOGG
COUNTIES. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE SHOWING LITTLE MOVEMENT AND HAD
INCREASED IN INTENSITY OVER THE PAST 30 MINUTES.

THESE THUNDERSTORMS ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING STRONG AND GUSTY
WINDS...FREQUENT AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING...AND POSSIBLE HAIL. PEOPLE
ACROSS THE WESTERN SECTIONS OF DEEP SOUTH TEXAS SHOULD REMAIN ALERT
THROUGHOUT THE REMAINDER OF THE AFTERNOON FOR THREATENING WEATHER
CONDITIONS.

ELSEWHERE...AT 125 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR WAS
DETECTING AN AREA OF SCATTERED SHOWERS WITH EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS
OVER THE GULF WATERS AND EXTENDING SOUTHWEST ACROSS EXTREME DEEP SOUTH
TEXAS AND THEN INTO MEXICO. THE AREA WAS LOCATED FROM ABOUT 80 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF MCALLEN NORTHEAST TO JUST NORTH OF HARLINGEN TO AROUND
PORT MANSFIELD AND THEN EXTENDED OFFSHORE TO BEYOND 100 MILES
NORTHEAST OF PORT MANSFIELD. ANOTHER AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
WERE BETWEEN 50 TO 75 MILES SOUTHEAST OF PORT ISABEL. MOVEMENT OF THE
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE GULF WAS TO THE EAST BETWEEN 10 TO
15 MILES AN HOUR WHILE THE ACTIVITY WAS NEARLY STATIONARY OVER LAND.
